Alvor is a charming picturesque fishing village in the Western Algarve of Portugal. Alvor has maintained its traditional Portuguese charm with its narrow cobbled streets and fish market.

Alvor has a wide array of restaurants with obviously fish the speciality. The restaurants in Alvor offer excellent food to cater for all tastes and is arguably the best served area for restaurants in the Algarve. Alvor also has many bars to cater for everyone.

There is a long golden sandy beach area with many beach restaurants and cafes. There is a 3 km boardwalk along the beach that leads around the estuary and through the sand dunes with the many protected habitats for a wide variety of species of both resident and migratory birds.
